Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 15 June 2025
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Preeya provides legal services and operates its website at preeya.live. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to the terms described here. If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us at [email protected] before proceeding.
1. About Us
Preeya is a family legal practice registered and operating in Thailand, located at 47 Loi Kroh Road, Chang Khlan, Chiang Mai 50100. We are duly registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand and conduct our practice in accordance with Thai law and applicable professional standards. All services are delivered by or under the supervision of qualified Thai legal practitioners.
2. Scope of Services
We offer three categories of family legal service:
- Understanding Session (฿1,950) — A private consultation to discuss your situation and explore available options. This session does not constitute formal legal representation.
- Fair Agreement Support (฿6,200) — Assistance in reaching cooperative family arrangements, including document preparation and facilitation support.
- Full Support & Representation (฿12,000) — Comprehensive legal support and formal representation for matters requiring full legal involvement.
The precise scope of any engagement will be confirmed in writing before work commences. Services quoted on this website are starting prices; the total cost of your matter will be discussed and agreed with you individually.
3. Engagement and Instructions
A formal engagement begins only when both parties have agreed in writing to the scope and terms of the work. Submitting a contact form or making a telephone enquiry does not create a lawyer-client relationship. We reserve the right to decline instructions at our professional discretion.
Once engaged, we ask that all instructions and significant decisions be confirmed in writing (including by email) to ensure clarity throughout the matter. We will always explain your options and the implications of each, but the decisions remain entirely yours.
4. Fees and Payment
Fees are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. Prices displayed on our website are indicative starting points; your individual fee will be discussed and confirmed before any work begins.
- An initial session fee is payable in advance.
- For ongoing matters, we may request a deposit or agree a payment schedule with you.
- Any additional disbursements (such as court fees or filing charges) will be communicated to you separately and in advance.
We will always be transparent about costs and will keep you informed if anything changes during the course of your matter.
5. Confidentiality
We hold all information you share with us in strict confidence, in accordance with our professional obligations as legal practitioners in Thailand. We will not disclose your information to any third party without your consent, except where required by law or court order, or where necessary to deliver the services you have engaged us for. Our privacy practices are described in full in our Privacy Policy.
6. Cancellation and Withdrawal
You may withdraw your instructions at any time by notifying us in writing. Where work has already been carried out, we reserve the right to charge for services rendered up to the date of withdrawal, calculated on a reasonable pro-rata basis and communicated transparently.
We may, in exceptional circumstances, withdraw from an engagement — for example, where continuing would breach our professional obligations. In such cases, we will give you reasonable notice and assist with a smooth transition where possible.
7. Limitation of Liability
We provide our services with care and in accordance with professional standards. However, outcomes in family legal matters depend on many factors outside our control, including the conduct of other parties and the discretion of courts or mediators.
Our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid for the specific service to which the claim relates, except where liability cannot be limited by law. We carry appropriate professional indemnity insurance as required by our professional body.
8. Website Use
The information on our website is provided for general information purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. It reflects the general position under Thai law at the time of writing and may not address your specific situation. You should not rely on website content as a substitute for a personal legal consultation.
We make reasonable efforts to keep website content current and accurate, but we cannot accept responsibility for any inaccuracies or omissions. We reserve the right to update or remove content without notice.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, layout, and design — is the property of Preeya or its content suppliers and is protected under applicable intellectual property law. You may view and print pages from this website for your personal use only. Reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use of any content without our prior written consent is not permitted.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms or our services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Thailand. Where a dispute relates to a specific legal engagement, we may first seek resolution through professional mediation before pursuing court proceedings.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page with the date it was last updated. For ongoing engagements, material changes to terms will be communicated to you directly. Continued use of our website following updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
